"I will raise a storm in this country that will not be stayed so long as there is a slave on its soil."

In the United States, the southern region was run on slave labor. This region used it more than any other area in the world. Soon, the slave trade was outlawed and the southerners were forced to trade and sell their slaves amongst themselves. When selling a slave, their "price" depended on the type of job that the slave did. Basic field workers were, on average, sold for $600.00 while house slaves were sold for $1000.00 or more.
